The Nest Academy provides education to underprivileged youth in the East Charlotte area. The Nest Academy, is a small private school with a vision to change the lives of our students. The Nest Academy, formerly known as One7 Academy, was started by MC Hildreth in 2009 with five girls in a small donated space near uptown Charlotte. The Academy now has its own custom built school building with 27 students, 1st through 12th grades. The students are from Vietnam, Thailand, The Congo, Ethiopia, Mexico, Thailand, Uganda, Eritrea, Vietnam, Argentina, El Salvador and the United States. The Academy is currently seeking a part-time or full-time middle/high school ESL/Language Arts teacher to begin immediately for the 2021 Fall semester. Start date is ASAP. The schedule for this position is flexible. Teaching candidates will need to be able to commit a minimum of 2 hours per day Monday-Friday of class instruction, plus time for lesson planning. The candidate should have flexibility, a willingness to serve others, and the ability to differentiate instruction for individual needs. The successful full-time candidate will be responsible for teaching block (90 minutes) classes Monday-Friday. Candidates should possess at minimum a bachelor's degree, a strong desire to work with students from diverse backgrounds and enjoy working in a close knit community.

Nest Academy Middle/High School Science/ Math Teacher - Job description The Nest Academy has a great opportunity to be a part of our amazing team! We are seeking a MS/HS school math and MS/HS science (chemistry) teacher. We are looking for an innovative and passionate educator who is able to teach multiple levels of math to join our middle/upper level team for the 2021-2022 school year as well as science. The primary purpose of this role is to provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth, as well as to enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Teachers at The Nest Academy have the freedom to prepare course materials and design lessons that compliment their teaching style while meeting the unique needs of our students. To be successful as a math/ science teacher, you should possess a thorough understanding of effective teaching practices for English Language Learners. We are looking for Charlotte's best art, fitness, sports, yoga, and music volunteers to be in person at our Academy to work with our students! We can work with your schedule within our school hours. This is an awesome opportunity to work with some amazing kids from around the world as they continue to learn English and general subjects. We need volunteers to come in and help mentor and guide these students in various extracurricular activities. If you love sharing your passion with others and teaching them, this is the opportunity for you! We are a nonprofit academy dedicated to serving the at risk, refugee, and immigrant population in the Charlotte area. We educate, empower and enrich our students with a tuition free, holistic education addressing the whole child: educationally, nutritionally, emotionally, socially and experientially.
