Virtual Opportunity
We are looking for someone who can explain the process of volunteering with The Birthday Giving Program to prospective members. This position is unpaid and entirely remote (can be completed from anywhere). Managers are responsible for the following: 1. Contacting prospective volunteers via email. 2. Scheduling phone calls and/or zoom calls to explain how volunteering with The Birthday Giving Program works. 3. Leading quick 15-20 minute meetings with the volunteers. Managers are expected to take notes during these meetings and share notes with the administrative team. Managers will attend a training/orientation session to prepare them for leading these meetings. 4. Emailing a volunteer form to the prospective volunteer. 5. Keeping in touch with Sonika and other members of The Birthday Giving Program's administrative team.

Opening a birthday giving chapter is easy, fun, and a great way to give back to the community! Here's how it works: 1. We schedule a video call with you to explain how the process works. 2. Our first choice is to find a Salvation Army location (or another organization that is willing to pick up the birthday bags from your house) that is geographically close to where you live. 3. We contact the Salvation Army (or another organization that is willing to pick up the birthday bags from your house) and explain The Birthday Giving Program's mission. This organization should be able to pick up the birthday bags from your house. 4. You order the birthday bag supplies off of Amazon or another online store and have the gifts shipped to your house. Each birthday bag costs between $5 and $10, depending on how many gifts you decide to put in the bag. Your goal is to provide 10 birthday bags to the organization each month. Each birthday bag includes the same gift items, which will go to kids of a specific age group! 5. Once you have packed the birthday bags, you contact the organization and they pick up the birthday bags from your house! You can also drop off the birthday bags and/or host birthday parties at the organization if you'd like. If you are interested in serving the senior citizen or veterans division let us know and we can find an organization to connect you with!

Are you looking for a fun and easy volunteer opportunity for your company employees? The Birthday Giving Program has you covered! We offer several virtual or in-person volunteer opportunities that will allow you to make a meaningful difference in your community: 1. Virtual Birthday Card Events: Your employees will join a Zoom meeting led by a member of our team. They will be making birthday cards and mailing them to The Birthday Giving Program. The cards will be donated to a homeless shelter, food pantry, nursing home, or another organization. 2. In-person Birthday Bag Packing Events: You and your team will gather at your office location to pack birthday bags for those in need. Each birthday bag costs $5-10 and includes store-bought gifts customized to the division you select (either children, adults, senior citizens, or veterans). The Birthday Giving Program will connect you with a nonprofit partner in your community (homeless shelter, food pantry, Boys & Girls Club, etc.) to receive the birthday bags. If interested, you can also throw a small birthday party with cake and decorations and meet recipients receiving the birthday bags!
