Mission Statement

"Youth Empowerment Siskiyou advocates for trauma-exposed, foster and at-risk youth. "

Description

We strive to build and support a strong local community in Siskiyou County, where every child, teen and young adult is and feels safe, loved and empowered.

Our current programs include Court Appointed Special Advocates, Luggage of Love, Trauma-Informed Summer Camp and Supervised Visitation.

We are pursuing building several new programs in 2020:

1) The Child Abuse Treatment (CHAT) Program which provides intensive therapeutic counseling services, on an outpatient basis, to children, under 18 years of age, who have been a victim of a crime.

2) Case management services in support of youth experiencing homelessness.

3) Expanding our CASA program to have trained Advocates ready to serve juvenile justice youth before the end of the year.

Our Values:

Equity. Individualized service plans better meet the needs of the people we serve. "One size fits all" may still leave people underserved.

Evolution. We are a locally responsive organization therefore we value engagement with our community. We want to grow together.

Nurture. We believe everyone deserves to be treated with compassion, dignity and empathy. We embrace trauma-informed care.

Integrity. We strive to be transparent as an organization and encourage our community to hold us accountable in discontinuing the harm that has been caused in the past by child welfare organizations.
