The Amedisys Hospice Volunteer Program exists to enhance the quality of life of hospice patients and their families by providing direct care to patients & their loved ones, indirect care activities and education in the community and nursing facilities, bereavement support activities, and administrative patient-related duties. Volunteers must be at least sixteen years of age to volunteer (with parental consent for minors).
Amedisys Hospice is a for profit hospice that maintains license to provide Hospice services in designated states. As a Medicare certified hospice, we contract with other health care facilities and agencies for impatient services. Amedisys provides hospice care to patients and families for the palliation and management of terminal illnesses and related conditions. The care optimizes comfort and dignity and is consistent with the patient and family needs and goals. The service are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week regardless of patient setting or funding.
