Mission Statement

Long Beach Community Table (LBCT) fosters sustainable community to support the well-being, empowerment, and self-determination of food- and housing-insecure residents in the greater Long Beach area with dignity and compassion.

Description

LBCT is the hub of a collaborative, mutual-aid society where everyone involved gives, receives, and takes care of each other to first meet basic needs, then to create greater self-sufficiency for individuals, families, and communities to reduce reliance on the current societal structure. During the pandemic, our primary focus has been on nourishing those who are financially distressed and/or immune-compromised with healthy food . We also provide basic necessities, educational programs, and other resources to low-income families and unhoused residents via several programs.

Food Distribution
- We bring fresh produce, nutritious food, toiletries and clothing directly to low-income areas of Long Beach on weekends and make food available during open community hours at our facility 4x weekly for people in need.

Homebound Delivery - Sunday evenings, we pack and deliver supplemental groceries to 250+ households, including seniors, immune-compromised individuals, and others who cannot shop for themselves at this time.

Gardens - Building a network of urban community gardens to increase food access.
