Description

The objective of this project is set a network of mini-libraries (starting in Peru) with a minimum of 100 spiritist titles for each one. These books will be rented for a symbolic amount in order to be self-sustaining over time. The mini-libraries are donated with the clear objective of having one for each interest district or locality.

The project has emerged as an alternative to supply the high expectation of reading Spanish and French spiritist books which are originally written in Portuguese. Unfortunately, just a minimum amount of books produced in Brazil annually is translated into Spanish and, less frequently, into French and English. Our organization makes a brave effort to supply this translation necessity and now seeks to make available to the less privileged population, who would not be able to buy a copy, reading many of these titles at a symbolic rental price.

The project will initially benefit over 100 000 people by generating approximately 1 000 000 interactions per year.

The project also aims to extend the network to Spanish, French and Portuguese speaking countries.

The estimated cost to print a 1 000 copy edition with 250 to 300 pages is US$ 1 500.
