During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
We provide donated food and essential goods for those in need. We pick up donated food and goods from local businesses and deliver these goods to our charitable outreach partners. We match the Giver with the Need. We seek sources of surplus food and connect these sources with charitable groups in need. With so much surplus and so much need in our community, we hope to reduce our carbon footprint by using goods, rather than wasting them.
NTTW has provided over 65,000 lbs of food including 53,000 meals and 35,000 sides. We have reduced our carbon footprint by 45,000 lbs and saved over 32 million gallons of water. We were recently featured as the cover article for Willow Glen Resident; Cambrian Resident; Almaden Resident; and Rose Garden Resident newspapers. Our recent efforts are featured on our Instagram: notimetowaste_food.
We currently are in need of volunteer drivers for the following pick ups and delivery to Martha's Kitchen San Jose.
7 Days a week pick up of pre-packaged surplus meals from Kaiser Hospital San Jose. We average 40-60 meals per pick up.
Every Monday: McDonald's (Capitol Expressway/87); Pizza Hut (Capitol Expwy/Senter Rd); and Pizza Hut (Race St.)
All McDonald's items are frozen and packaged for easy pick up & delivery. Pizza Hut's average 5-18 pizzas per store pick up.
We provide insulated delivery bags; Tally Sheets; volunteer badge; and simple training for picking up pre-packaged food from all locations, as well as drop off to Martha's Kitchen San Jose.
You can pick and choose which days and places of pick up that interest you.
