Mission Statement

The mission of the Oxnard RSVP is to enrich the lives of people age 55 and over by building a bridge to meaningful volunteer opportunities that use their time and talent in significant service to the community.

Oxnard RSVP is a program within the City of Oxnard's Senior Services Division and part of a larger national network of volunteer placement and management programs under the Corporation for National and Community Service. Locally, we collaborate with about 40 different non-profit and public organizations to address local issues within the four-city area of Oxnard, Ventura, Pt. Hueneme and Camarillo. RSVP also operates two large senior exercise programs (RSVP Bone Builders and Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance), led by trained senior volunteers. Each year, about 500 volunteers, all age 55 and better, serve their community through an RSVP placement. By joining RSVP, your service and its impact will be added to those of other volunteers across the country, showing how active and engaged older adults are.
