Mentor an Underrepresented College Student or Refugee to Get Their First Job

Flexible Schedule | Virtual Opportunity

GMI prepares students and refugees to get their first job after graduation. This is accomplished through a structured, short-term, online mentorship with a business professional enhanced through the power of AI. GMI was created from the Rockefeller Foundation’s Digital Jobs Initiative to help prepare students for their first career job using a model that makes it easy for you to be a great mentor without a significant time commitment. GMI has over 10,200 students and mentors in the program and partners with 60 colleges and youth associations that provide students in 100 countries including eight refugee camps. GMI is adding 500 new students for mentorship in the next 90 days, and we need more mentors! We make it easy for you to be a great mentor and GMI provides everything you need to guide your student. You don't need to be an expert, just follow the mentor guide, and add your own personal experience. The CCI tracks: Development of a professional LinkedIn business network Creation of an actionable resume/CV Confident and competitive job interviewing skills Scheduled and practiced interviews Accelerated job placement The program results have been very encouraging: - 37-point increase in career confidence & skills after mentorship - 74% of students worldwide get a job within six months of graduating - 82% of graduates with a job say the GMI program was important or very important in helping them get hired We Make it Easy to Be a Mentor 12 mentorship sessions each with a mentor guide and student materials to provide a consistent approach. Description

GMI partners with universities in the US and around the world with a mentorship program that includes 14 one-hour structured online sessions designed to provide real value to the student as they prepare for their job search.
