During these uncertain times, how can we help?

Volunteers work to beautify and preserve the historic Nehalem American Legion Cemetery. Established in 1901, this active cemetery, owned by the City of Nehalem, is supported by local and visiting volunteers. We strive to maintain historic monuments and plots, heritage and native plants and trees.
The year 2020 is the fifth year in operation. Volunteers work weekly between May and October, gently cleaning monuments, uncovering stone borders from drifting sand, trimming shrubs, and weeding plots. This scenic location in between the coastal towns of Manzanita and Nehalem is open to the public and is visited often by migrating elk and deer.
