Mission Statement

Inspired by our heritage and core values, Culcha is on a journey to transcend human experience through the development, preservation & restoration of ancestral knowledge, cultural and spiritual practices. These practices enrich the cultural perspective of our projects, allowing us to empower & innovate while learning from the blueprint of our foremothers. We believe reconnecting with nature + both indigenous and contemporary individuals through the traditions of music, art, design, fashion, health and symbolism can further influence cultural leadership, empowerment + impact. CULCHA Foundation serves as an essential resource that honours & explore our origins in all its depth and dimensions.

Description

Founded by Chieftains Nise-Akosua & SA-RA Yaw OduYeFo I, CULCHA Foundation is a skill-based volunteer, non-profit organization. Our roots extend from Guyana, South America where we originate from, to the metropolitan cities of NYC, ATL & Miami, where we have acquired great reception over the years.

CULCHA Foundation has quarterly staple and impactful projects/programs that sankofa (reach back) to the indigenous & spiritual traditions of music, art, health and fashion in all its facets. Since 2015, these projects has aided us in commencing an international annual Music Art & CULCHA Fest, founded a new-age global self-healing practice (YogaSthenics), and has made history in the realms of Fashion in Guyana with our "Fashion for Empowerment" movement. We're widely appreciated internationally and is reflected by our relationships with prominent institutions and influencers. With all that we've accomplished we seek to the to extend our Culcha to a society we call our family of the Foundation.
