Mission Statement

Refugees and Immigrants Community for Empowerment (RICE) is a non-profit made up of an experienced multinational board which mission is to aid refugees and immigrants in becoming self-sufficient and contribute to economic growth of the community by creating resources and opportunities to training and education in preparing for employment in the community.

Description

In 2017, a group of experienced and active ethnic community leaders came together to form an refugee organization to assist all refugees in Metro Phoenix. In 2018, Refugees and Immigrants Community for Empowerment (RICE) received its non-profit status from IRS. In March 2018, RICE with the help of faculty and students from ASU, Office of Global Social Work and in partnership with Arizona Healthcare Outreach (AHO) opened a one of a kind dental clinic. The dental clinic is open twice a month on Saturday, more than 300 clients have received x-rays, fillings, extractions, cleanings, including deep cleanings, root canal retreatment, OR referrals to low cost dentist for implants. These services are provided by volunteer dental assistances, hygienist, and dentist. RICE is open to assist refugees Monday - Friday to assist with employment services, emergency crisis services, and crisis support.
