Catalyst 2030 is seeking a Tax intern with a focus on the future of taxation Launched at the World Economic Forum in January 2020, Catalyst 2030 is a global community of social entrepreneurs, funders and other social change innovators who believe collaborative action and bold, new strategies are needed to address the crises of our time. Joining forces with communities, governments, businesses, funders and others, Catalyst 2030 members are working toward changing systems at all levels. Cumulatively, members have already impacted the lives of millions, often with limited resources. Together, we envision the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for all. How can you help change the world? Our Chief Facilitator at Catalyst 2030 is looking for an intern to assist her in developing her vision on the future of taxation around the globe. You must have good English writing skills and an ambition to change the world for the better. A knowledge of taxation is an attribute but not necessary. Jeroo Billimoria has challenged systems and changed the world for children, youth and adults alike. Her determination to make financial education accessible for children around the globe, helping millions of children and young people to set up savings accounts and take charge of their right to not live in poverty has changed the lives of many. Aflatoun, Child and Youth Finance International, Catalyst 2030, are just a number of organisations she has (co) founded to make collaborative systems change happen in the world of finance. Global money week, now run by OECD, is her most famed campaign in this area. Can you help Jeroo make the next changes? Will you be the next change maker? Join us! Requirements and Skills Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently, as well as within a team, in a fast-paced environment and across time zones An active interest in global issues and challenges, their complexity and nuances Preference for graduate degree completion Excellent verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail and willingness to learn from experience Desire to work collaboratively in a team, with a hands-on, positive attitude and ability to rise to challenges Good English writing skills Ability to work in a multicultural and global digital environment, with cultural sensitivity Flexibility and the ability to easily adapt to new tasks and assignments that might be given at short notice A knowledge of taxation is an attribute but not necessary Our Offer The opportunity to work with a young and dynamic team in a fast-paced global environment, on-the-job training opportunities and experience within an international NGO The ability to coordinate personal projects to improve the work of the organisation Six month internship contract, preference for full time, but some part-time opportunities available for the right candidate Good working atmosphere with a small and dedicated team An opportunity to work with the world’s most prestigious social entrepreneurs and innovators Internship Start Date May 6th, 2024 for six months Location After COVID, we adopted a distributed organisational model with the ability to hire a diverse team. This position is remote and can be carried out from most regions that have some overlap with CEST working hours (minimum of 4 hours per day with CEST). Catalyst 2030 offers the volunteer the opportunity to work with colleagues from various countries , and to challenge themselves within the context of a vibrant and growing organisation . Responsibilities Provide interpretation services at our General Assembly , taking place every 4th Wednesday of the month from 4 PM to 5:30 PM CE(S)T time . About the General Assembly The Catalyst 2030 General Assembly (GA) is the space for our community to discuss common strategies and co-create Catalyst’s network initiatives. The GA is the movement’s monthly meeting when all members are welcome to share new ideas, provide updates on progress with collaborations, share calls to action to accelerate our common impact and celebrate each other’s achievements . What does a General Assembly offer? A scheduled time to showcase Catalyst 2030 collaborations, Chapters, and Task Force Teams and to highlight the impact these are having across the world Monthly updates about events hosted by the network and its external ecosystem Would you like to be a part of our movement? Requirements and Skills An active interest in global issues and challenges, their complexity and nuances Excellent interpretation skills: English to Arabic, Spanish, French or Portuguese We need two volunteers for each language.
