TAHI GLOBAL COMMUNITY SCHOOL is an alternative independent K-8 school opening in Central Ohio Fall 2021.
Our curriculum is grounded on educational theories, current research, and holistic models of child development. Learning is organized in multiage communities based on the child’s development and competencies.
Eight principles underpin the curriculum content and pedagogical approach of the learning environment: Holistic development, agency, relationship, inclusion, inquiry, global citizenship, sustainability, and participation.
Tahi offers a rich and distinct curriculum designed to nurture, inspire and empower all learners to develop their potential and participate in the world in positive and meaningful ways. It includes:
A literacy- and numeracy-rich environment that stimulates and supports language development and mathematical thinking.
Large blocks of time for project work and multiple forms of assessment to document learning, making it visible to learners, their families, and the community.
Foreign languages beginning at an early age and interaction with international communities.
Art embedded in the curriculum to stimulate learning and support children in expressing their thoughts and ideas and producing quality creative work.
Daily experiences in nature, unstructured indoor and outdoor play, and regular morning meetings to build community and social and emotional competencies.
