Beacon Hospice is committed to providing comprehensive, competent, quality care, optimizing comfort and dignity consistent with the patient and family needs and goals. With the patient's needs and goals as priorities, we seek to insure, without discrimination, the dignity, comfort and choices of the patient /family/caregiver in a timely, well-coordinated end-of-life care which includes bereavement and counseling support. We dedicate ourselves to providing excellent volunteer hospice services with ultimate respect for the decisions of those we serve. We honor dignity, comfort and hope and we strive to support each other in our work.
With COVID-19 being present, it is crucial for Beacon Hospice to continue keeping our patients as comfortable as possible and also keeping in mind their safety and ours as well. Many of our volunteer coordinators are partaking in virtual volunteering. Virtual volunteering includes companionship over the phone, creating/making crafts or cards for our patients and keeping in touch with the family and caregivers.
