Machiah's House is committed to ensuring that all young female adults impacted by foster care have safe, healthy, and nurturing stability through a quality, comprehensive continuum of care in the fields of social services, education, career-building, corrections, mental health and housing that promotes strong self-independence and advocates for change. We continuously innovate to provide an unwavering commitment of proven programs that engage natural supports to grow, connect, improve and move forward to healthy development. When these young people age out of the system at 18 or 21 years of age, they are often ill-equipped to navigate a successful path to a self-sufficient and independent adulthood. Young people facing homelessness often have to make the desperate choice between sleeping on the street or going with a pimp who offers them food and shelter. Faced with dire situations like this, these young people are easily manipulated into becoming victims of human trafficking and a host of other threats and obstacles to their well-being and future happiness. Machiah's House is in direct response to the growing number of young adults that are either falling through the cracks in society, or already entangled with sex trafficking, rape, molestation and incest. The goal of Machiah's House is to identify young female adults who are going to have a turbulent transition to adulthood and derail their lives. The objective is slightly different at each level but the goal remains the same; empower the young female adult to make positive changes in her life. I’m in the process of establishing partnerships and support to bring awareness about Machiah's House, as well as raising funds for our transitional group home, to best serve the population in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties. My goal is to build funds to purchase and open the doors of the home by June 1st 2024. My drive for excellence and passion to see others succeed and become all that God intended them to be is a great joy and reason why I desire to continue to advocate using the platform provided...to leave a legacy of hope & compassion on the lives God allowed me to impact and His grace to be able to make a difference.
