It was established in October 2017 by the founding chapter coordinator two months after attending the first Africa capacity building workshop organized by the Global Youth Biodiversity Network, in South Africa, in August 2017. ZYBN aims to advocate for youth participation and inclusion in biodiversity conservation at all levels in Zimbabwe and to raise awareness about the importance of preserving biodiversity. ZYBN achieves its mission through engaging leaders, youth and communities with a focus on capacity building workshops, training, online campaigns and participating in national/international youth advocacy workshops/forums, among other things.
