The Recovery Services Client Care Program allows the Red Cross to rapidly meet disaster-caused needs by enabling clients to apply and receive financial assistance and/or community resources. The Client Care Program Service Associate supports the recovery of disaster affected individuals, households, and communities by providing referrals, advocacy, and financial assistance through RC Care (case management system). Responsibilities: Conduct Intake by interviewing the client and opening a case in RC Care Provide Financial Assistance to qualified clients. Conduct Follow-up and Recovery Planning Services Provide Internal Referrals Provide Community Referrals Assist with problem-solving and advocacy on request Use RC Care to document services according to the Client Care Program Standards and Procedures Services may be provided in person or virtually. Complete the required virtual self-paced training (9 hours of training total) Time Commitment: Local/Regional: Shift work determined by the scale of the relief operation; a minimum requirement of 8-12 hours per day during the disaster relief operation for multiple, consecutive days. DISPATCHER FOR DISASTER RESPONSE Opportunity available within the state of Pennsylvania The American Red Cross responds to local home fires and disasters throughout PA. Our dispatchers work from home to dispatch our team who helps provide resources and support to clients during their time of hardship. Disaster Duty Officers play a very important role when the American Red Cross provides assistance to those affected by disasters. They are the first and single point of contact from emergency service organizations when the request for assistance is made. DAT Duty Officers are the lynchpin that holds a Red Cross disaster response together. DAT Duty Officers receive notification from clients and agencies requesting assistance during a fire, flood, or other disasters. They assess the situation and deploy the most appropriate resources to support efforts such as initial casework and recovery planning, canteen services, sheltering, and disaster assessment. The DAT Duty Officer ensures the response team has the tools, knowledge, and resources they need in order to deliver quality services, all while monitoring the situation and providing support from the comfort of their own home. Responsibilities vary depending on assignment. The Sheltering Service Associate is a temporary position assigned to work in person in a Red Cross shelter before, during and/or after a disaster event. Sheltering Service Associates complete tasks necessary for shelter operations and interacts with clients to ensure their needs are met. Sheltering Service Associates support the day-to-day activities within a shelter, which can include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information or other areas within a shelter.May include providing support to one or more of the following areas within the shelter: reception registration dormitory feeding information supply Provide excellent customer service to clients Complete the required virtual self-paced training (3.5 hours of training total) Regional responses: Shift work determined by the scale of the relief operation; a minimum requirement of 8-12 hours per day during the disaster relief operation for multiple, consecutive days. Beyond Regional responses: 12-14 hour days forextended periods depending on distance. Time and length of commitment will vary by operation.
