Cohabitation will also act a strengthening and unifying agent for the community to run conservation and preservation programs of wildlife and their habitats. Cohabitation will also provide and engage in public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and direct action. We focus on making the maximum positive effort. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us do good work. Using community driven models, we take actions that make a long-lasting positive differences in both the human and animal communities which are both interconnected.
Cohabitation first started off a documentary that highlighted and recognized the valiant effort of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation women and men who truly unsung heroes. We began to focus on environmental and ecological hazards that our wildlife face daily from red tide and Cyanobacteria blooms, to the secondary poisoning in our raptors from rodenticide, the dangers of herbicide usage in our community people to pets can be adversely affected as well as our wildlife populations. Fishing line entanglements, discarded fishing gear, plastic bags, and straws in our fragile ecosystems. Cohabitation once officially recognized by the media and other municipalities hopes to focus on the negative impact that humans are having on our ecological systems as a whole and act as educational mechanism to assist local municipalities, county and state in alleviating the stress our wildlife face as a result of such adverse actions. Cohabitation is about bringing communities together to make a positive impact for a better tomorrow.
