National Volunteer Week 2021 Is Here!
Celebrate with us as we highlight #ArtAsActivism!
Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based positive youth development (PYD) program that is designed to enhance girls’ social, psychological and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences. The program’s intentional curriculum places an emphasis on developing competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution in young girls through lessons that incorporate running and other physical activities. The life skills curriculum is delivered by caring and competent coaches who are trained to teach lessons as intended.
What began as 24 girls in 2012 has grown to over 5,500 girls each year at Girls on the Run Twin Cities. Since 2017 we've been in the greater Rochester area and look forward to continuing our growth and expanding our presence in town.
