Mission Statement

Our mission is to increase public awareness of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) across the nation, with an emphasis in the Pittsburgh tri-state region.

Description

NASH EDUCATION was formed in 2018 by a liver transplant recipient. While liver disease is often stigmatized as an alcohol-related disease, 100 million Americans have non-alcoholic liver disease and most don't know it because there are typically no symptoms. Excess liver fat can lead to NASH (non-alcoholic steatohepatitis), cirrhosis and liver cancer. Despite this looming epidemic, the general public is largely unaware of non-alcoholic liver disease. We hope to change that.
