Mission Statement
The mission of the Sickle Cell Association of Texas Marc Thomas Foundation is to improve the quality of life for Texas individuals and families affected by sickle cell trait and sickle cell disease through education, case management, research and supportive services throughout.
Description
Sickle Cell Disease not only causes physical pain, but also creates psychological and social impairments. The Sickle Cell Association of Texas Marc Thomas Foundations seeks to provide a beacon of hope for families affected by providing: emotional and social support through case management, counseling, care coordination, education to alleviate physical pain and symptoms, financial assistance and other supportive services.
Since 1997, this nonprofit organization has served large populations affected by sickle cell by providing certified hemoglobinopathy education, case management and supportive services.
*Camp Cell-A-Bration: A special needs camp for children with sickle cell disease ages 6-14.
*Case Management & Care Coordination: Providing referrals and individual needs to clients.
