EMPOWERING ENRICHMENT

Description

EE is a DC Metro-based nonprofit that has been serving Title 1 schools and similar communities since 2016. We are passionate about ensuring access to before/after school enrichment programs for all students in communities with financial need because every child should have opportunities to enhance their education.

Unfortunately, for many families in the metro DC area, these classes are out of reach financially. As more and more families struggle to make ends meet, they simply do not have the resources to pay for enrichment classes. EE works to bridge these financial gaps by partnering with local PTAs/PTOs, as well as Providers of these programs and camps, to provide grants to fund scholarships and other program-related costs for students and communities with financial need.

Our organization funds (standard) grants to area schools 4 times a year. Beginning in 2019, in addition to our standard grants, we partnered with Coding with Kids and Amazon’s future engineer program to award coding education scholarships. To date, we’ve granted 363 scholarships to deserving students in our community!

Our goals for 2020-2021 are to: triple our impact in terms of grants/scholarships awarded, create and implement a strategic fundraising campaign to support the identified growth, and to identify and create strategic relationships with schools and business in the DC Metro area that will help to further our mission.
