Mission Statement

Oxfam is a global movement of people who won’t live with the injustice of poverty. Together we save lives and rebuild communities when disaster strikes. We help people build better lives for themselves. We speak out on the big issues that keep people poor, like inequality and discrimination against women. And we won’t stop until every person on the planet can live without poverty.

Description

Oxfam Ireland is one of 20 Oxfams working together in more than 90 countries. Supported by people across the island of Ireland for over 60 years, we are an independent, secular and not-for-profit organisation. We have shops across the island of Ireland, offices in Belfast and Dublin, and 2,000 volunteers who are delivering real change to the lives of people affected by poverty. We respond to humanitarian emergencies around the world wherever they happen. We help people to help themselves and build a brighter future through our long-term projects. From women's rights to climate change, earthquakes to education, we carry out life-changing, ground-breaking work around the world. You are the local link in a global network of people building a brighter future now.
