Mission Statement

We provide long-term housing and support at-risk youth who are homeless or as they 'age-out' of foster care. At Level Up Seattle we provide a home, as well as educational and business partnering opportunities for at-risk, former foster, or homeless youth ages 18-24. We provide the platform from which they can attain personal growth, independence, and success in education, work, and life. Because we are founded by the Seattle business community, no only do we provide a safe home for youth to grow, develop and transform into their best. We help them discover what they are truly capable of by providing entrepreneurship, mentoring, jobs and educational opportunities.

Description

Along with Frank Shankwitz the Creator and A Founder of The Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Seattle business community we believe we can change the stats.

Currently, less than 48% of youth in foster care graduate from high school. 45% Of those leaving foster care become homeless within 18 months, 20% instantly become homeless, 50% will become substance-addicted and 7 out of 10 of these young women will become pregnant by age 21.

We aim to change that. First by providing the safety and security of a stable home, then by ensuring all of our youth graduate high school or obtain their GED and continue on to college/university or a skilled trade, next bringing in top coaching to create life-long healthy exercise and nutrition habits, and finally by partnering our youth with leaders in the business community.
