826's goal is to encourage the exploration of endless possibility through the power of writing. For students: To create space for students to develop the skills they need to write their own paths forward, undefined by circumstance. For teachers: To support new and exciting approaches to writing and inspire student engagement. For communities: To foster generations of creative writers and thinkers, who together will define a better future.
826 is a national network of youth writing and publishing centers whose goal is to encourage the exploration of endless possibility through the power of writing. With the support of 826 National, local organizations including UNT Dallas, Big Thought, and For Oak Cliff, are working together to bring a chapter of 826 to Dallas; this working group is called the 826 Dallas Project.
