During these uncertain times, how can we help?

SOAR for Youth, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established in 2009 to provide high-quality support, opportunities, and rapport that foster youth would have otherwise received from their parents.
With community partnerships, SOAR helps foster youth move through adolescence and into their adult lives with confidence and independence. Through a four-year summer residential pre-collegiate program and additional years of sustained support, SOAR teaches, coaches, and counsels our young people in academics, life skills, leadership, emotional intelligence, and career development. After participation in our summer academy programs, SOAR youth are paired with an Academic Advocate who is responsible to track and mentor the youth's academic progress to ensure high school graduation and higher education preparedness. Academic Advocates have an access to resources provided by SOAR, including local classes and tutors to help our youth maintain successful grades. In the summer, SOAR youth are eligible to participate in SOAR's Summer Internship program, where we pair youth with prospective career mentors. SOAR pays all youth for their time up to 160 hours and pays for all their transportation needs to/from their internship location.
Join us to help make a difference in the lives of foster youth and our future! We are always looking for Academic Advocates, Summer Counselors, Tutors, Grant Writers, Marketing, etc... If you want to volunteer services not listed, we will find you a meaningful project!
