Overview: The Friends of Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides ongoing support for educational park programs, restoration efforts and recreational events. The Friends group seeks a part-time volunteer to assist with event marketing, public relations outreach, social media outreach, website management, and administrative/organization tasks related to event and Park promotion. This is a remote opportunity, with occasional in-person meetings with supervising board members. Key Responsibilities: Develop, schedule and publish content across various social media platforms such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. Monitor and respond to social media interactions, fostering community engagement Assist in creating and curating high-quality, engaging content Collaborate with the supervising Board members to develop and implement social media strategies aligned with our mission and goals Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns and events including the LBJ 100 Bicycle Tour and capital campaigns Assist in website management using Wix and GoDaddy and email newsletters using Constant Contact Qualifications: Experience in a marketing environment, either professional or student organization Proven leadership skills Experience with multiple social media platforms such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube Extreme attention to detail Excellent writing and communication skills Motivates self-starter, able to complete tasks without direct supervision Willingness to learn and ability to bring new ideas to the table Experience with Loomly is a plus but not required Benefits: Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in preserving history and enriching the community.
