Mission Statement

MetaCoders’ mission is to prepare students for the future by not just teaching coding, but teaching students how to learn new programming languages. Programming languages come and go, so students need to be ready to learn the next language - whatever that may be! This means MetaCoders spends time teaching students about their brains and how they learn!

For the past 7 years, the founders of MetaCoders have been pioneering innovative approaches to teaching students coding. MetaCoders operated as a for-profit for several years as we honed our skills as educators and developed new technologies to better engage our students. Now, we are teaching students worldwide!

MetaCoders offers a daily, drop in Virtual Coding Club as well as custom opportunities for students, families, and co-learning "pods." Our unique badge system allows students to learn and explore what interests them the most at the speed that is right for them, all while being guided and inspired by Coding Coaches in a digital classroom.

MetaCoders has an organized system for volunteers through which they are both able to coach kids and work on curriculum. The organizers are understanding and helpful, and never fail to clear up any confusion one might have. Volunteering with MetaCoders is a great experience and I highly recommend volunteering to help bring coding education to students in numerous different cities.
