Mission Statement

The Playful Child's mission is to nurture the mental and physical health of children & families by cultivating the healing value of unstructured play in our community. The Playful Child is an advocate of play. We believe hearts can heal through play and that children need more opportunity for unstructured play. The Playful Child creates opportunities for children, families, and the community to grow and heal through play.

Description

The Playful Child was established in 2018 after the tragic and sudden death of Kade Damian. His playful and joyful spirit is remembered through the mission and goals of the non-profit. The Kade Damian Healing Hearts Park is a legacy of love and play. Six acres located at 1306 Country Club Drive in Georgetown, TX, right along the San Gabriel River Trail have been dedicated to the park project by the City of Georgetown. The Playful Child and Covey Landscape Architects have worked in partnership with the Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department to design a unique park and play space that encourage play for everyone and honors all children who now live on in our hearts and memories. The park is a place to bring the community together to heal in love and play. We all carry something heavy and play creates connections and friendships needed by everyone.

The Playful Child is looking for volunteers and supporters just like YOU to help build this unique park and play space here in Central Texas!
