Mission Statement

Bison Peak Lodge at Puma Hills (aka Child in Hand) exists to support and strengthen Veterans & First Reponders and their families. Located in a virgin wilderness setting, we seek to give rest and healing through the magnificent land and beautiful facilities, while spending the days exploring, discovering and adventuring in nature day and at night. We help cameradie grow through opportunities of shared experiences and programming with like minded partners.

Construction began in 2018 and continues today as we collaborate with Park County share our magical valley with others. Hundreds of vets and first responders have visited and experienced all the adventures we provide - including 3D archery, fly fishing, mountain biking, over 20 musical instruments, 15 different types of kites to fly, three large telescopes, giant versions of games like Chess, Connect Four and Jenga, Dominos and Pickupsticks, a wide variety of swings and even a pine cone mini-golf course. We partner with Challenge America for Veteran Music Therapy events and Project Healing Waters and have hosted the Women's Olympic Water Polo team for a 10 day silent retreat.
