Mission Statement

The primary objective of the organization is the preservation and dissemination of the rich heritage of American aviation. The Society maintains an extensive collection of books, documents and photographs that are available to researchers and aviation enthusiasts on a wide variety of American aviation history.

Description

AAHS has been in operation since 1956, collecting and preserving aviation photos and written material from members from all over the world. Over two million photos and the collection increases monthly! AAHS publishes a quarterly Journal, (continuously since 1956) regularly named one of the top 100 aviation publications in the US. Much of the image collection is in print form, and needs to be scanned and cataloged, without such action we cannot share them effectively with our members or the public.
