Mission Statement

To Show We Care is a volunteer-run, micro non-profit dedicated to hosting encouraging events and programs for people affected by cancer or other life-threatening illnesses. We serve the Boston Metropolitan area, including the North Shore, as the primary local source for free theatrical & entertainment events for people in treatment and their caregivers. To Show We Care was organized in May 2013 with the intent of hosting an event for cancer survivors and caregivers. Our first event was on Friday, August 23, 2013, at the North Shore Music Theatre. We were fortunate to be able to bring 138 cancer survivors and caregivers to see the musical Cats. Since then, we have hosted 39 events attended by over 3,000 patients and caregivers.

Description

Our programs provide patients, caregivers, and their families a much-needed break from their frequent treatments and doctor appointments.
Our hope is to bring joy, happiness, and encouragement to as many community members affected by cancer or other life-threatening illnesses as possible, if only for a few hours.

We measure our success by the number of people we can help with the quality of the programs we provide. These programs are fueled by our dedicated and caring volunteers and generous donors.

Our Night on the Town program allows our guests to experience an evening of live theatre. We take care of everything. All our guests need do is show up, enjoy dining in a relaxed community atmosphere designed just for them, and bask in the magic of live theatre at the North Shore Music Theatre. These events are free to patients and their companion(s) and include a pre-show reception with a dinner buffet, the performance, and a post-show reception with the cast.
