VoteRiders assists people in getting IDs to help them with voting, housing, employment, healthcare, and more. Our Virginia chapter of VoteRiders, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is looking for drivers to help clients in person in Alexandria Virginia. You would not have a client in your car, but you would meet them at their DMV appointment to pay for their ID (reimbursed by VoteRiders). At other times you can assist VoteRiders case management team members by picking up paperwork from our partner organizations. Primary DMVs we use are in Lorton and Franconia, as are our partners. Important elections are always around the corner -- which is why VoteRiders is a year-round organization. Nationwide, VoteRiders provides voter ID education and assistance to anyone in need. Here in Clearwater, Florida, VoteRiders Tampa Bay helps eligible voters get the ID they need to cast their ballots in person -- one voter at a time. And since ID is necessary for housing, for employment, and for so many other aspects of life, you're making a difference for members of our community well beyond Election Day. Our local volunteers do the following: 1) Help clients get their state ID or driver's license at the tax collector's office. This is an in-person opportunity. Choose to cover one day a month or more! 2) Work with clients to obtain the documents they need to get ready for their appointment. This can often be done virtually but HEP would like to have a weekly in-person ID clinic. Volunteer once a month or more! Full training is provided, and all expenses are either prepaid or promptly reimbursed. Contact us with any questions!

The pandemic has made it harder than ever for individuals to navigate the bureaucracy on their own...and it's added new categories of essential activities that are impossible to do without an ID. That's why we need volunteers more than ever! Important elections are always around the corner -- which is why VoteRiders is a year-round organization. Nationwide, VoteRiders provides voter ID education and assistance to anyone in need. Here in Milwaukee County, VoteRiders helps eligible voters get the ID they need to cast their ballots in person -- one voter at a time. Help someone clear a hurdle to a better life by helping them get a government ID for voting, housing, employment, healthcare, and more. Our Virginia chapter of VoteRiders, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is looking for volunteers in several key areas. Most work is done remotely, but we also need drivers with cars to meet clients at the DMV (usually eastern Fairfax County, Alexandria City offices) and to pick up clients’ signed paperwork from our partner organizations. Whether it’s managing a client case from contact to ID issuance or being an assistant in arranging Uber rides for clients, making document pickups, DMV payment and application completion and signature runs, we have a role for you. Must have basic computer skills (online form completion, updating our client case database). We reimburse for mileage and pay for client Uber rides and all fees for documents needed for IDs, as well as the ID itself. Training calls and guide documents provided. Our local volunteers do the following: 1) Help clients get their state ID or driver's license at the tax collector's office. This is an in-person opportunity at any one of the Manatee County Tax Collectors' offices. You can pick the location, date and time. We only ask that you pick a date/time such as the 1st Monday of each month between 1 and 3 pm, etc. You will be meeting clients, helping them through the process, and using our debit card to cover the costs. 2) Work with clients to obtain the documents they need to get ready for their appointment.
