Mission Statement

We are some wonderful people who are Moms, Dads, Brothers Sisters, Aunts, Uncles and even Grandparents who go around the state of Arkansas and fight for as well as hug anyone in the LGBTQIA+ who may not have the support they need in their life. I need people from every corner of Arkansas to help support and volunteer. This is something that is near and dear to my heart.

Description

Sara is the founder of Free Mom Hugs and the reason our organization exists. Free Mom Hugs is a group of affirming parents and allies who love the LGBTQ+ community unconditionally. We are dedicated to educating families, churches and civic leaders encouraging them to not only affirm the LGBTQ+ community but to celebrate them.

So many young LGBTQIA+ people are hurting from family rejection and rigid religious beliefs. We may not be able to change every heart and mind - we may not be able to solve most problems - but one thing we can all do is be a loving presence in the life of LGBTQIA+ people. Anyone reading this can send a card, speak words of affirmation, get together with someone for a coffee, give a small gift, use someone’s chosen name, give a hug. These are things we can all do.

But we need you to step up in a different way and donate financially to support our efforts to Go Beyond The Hug.
