Mission Statement
Is Dignity Important to you? It is to the Elderly, too! There are over 7,000 older adults currently living in long-term care facilities in Southwest Idaho. Many of those frail adults do not have any family support. Who will be their advocates to assure they receive quality care and continue to be recognized as individuals if they don’t have family support?
Description
The Southwest Idaho Area Agency on Aging Ombudsman Program is mandated by both the federal and state government to provide advocacy to this frail population of our community. Ombudsmen investigate, mediate, and resolve issues pertaining to the elderly living in long-term care.
If you care about Southwest Idaho’s senior population and would like to make a difference in your community contact Marva, Ombudsman Volunteer Coordinator - text, call or email (208) 996-4959 or marva.kubalik@a3ssa.com for an application.
The SW Idaho Area Agency on Aging Ombudsman Program provides excellent training and supervision. Bring your desire to serve, the skills you’ve developed throughout your life, and join us for an experience that will improve the quality of life for older adults. Upon successful completion of the Ombudsman Training program, volunteers are certified by the State of Idaho as a long-term care ombudsman.
Training is ongoing.
