Mission Statement

The Hawaii Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) is dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for inheritable bleeding disorders and to preventing the complications of these disorders through education, advocacy and research. Established in 1948, the National Hemophilia Foundation has chapters throughout the country. Its programs and initiatives are made possible through the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations as well as through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Description

The Hawaii chapter was formed many years ago and has gone through many changes in its history, much like our community itself...5 years ago, NHF started providing some assistance to the region, to help continue to pursue its mission and enhance the support and resources to the island bleeding disorders community. In 2018 and currently, the chapter continues to grow and create valuable programming to enhance the ohana quality of life to the best of its ability. We offer Ohana Canp (Koko Ohana) and after 15 years, we starting our youth camp back up in 2020 (Na Koa Koko). We also have Ohana Educational meetings throughout the islands and can use some assistance from fabulous volunteers like you.
