Mission Statement

Ansar Services is proactively engaged in the planning and implementation of strategies and complementary programs to consciously enrich community life within the greater Washington DC area. We seek to be responsive to areas of critical economic, social, and cultural needs, particularly within underserved communities and to help ensure and promote on-going community well-being. Ansar Services is in the process of implementing a range of community focused programs and initiatives in several major areas, which include youth development and community economic development. The overall goal of these efforts is to institute a set of complementary processes that enhance both the economic life and outlook for those individuals who live within (historically) underserved communities. Our approach includes well-defined patterns and processes for youth development and achievement (to include a commitment to community service and personal development (i.e., self-leadership).

Description

Ansar Services of Greater Washington DC is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3), Tax-Exempt organization whose mission is primarily focused on minority and underserved communities within the Greater Washington DC area.

Ansar Services was originally founded in the early 2000s by a group of individuals with a common interest in both helping and being responsive to community social and institutional needs, as well as support for Interfaith and other community outreach activities. Over the past several years, the group has become increasingly aware of many increasing needs and challenges within underserved and African American communities, in the greater Washington DC area. This led to a decision by the current members to broaden the organization’s focus and interests to help address some of those needs.
