Mission Statement

Our mission is to bring people together to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Habitat Iowa forms partnerships with local churches, businesses/organizations, and individuals who are interested in helping people in need.

Description

We would not be able to do all of this good work if it weren't for volunteers. Bringing snacks, cheerleading, swinging a hammer, installing windows, siding, and so much more - We have volunteer opportunities for everyone of all skill levels! We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we work to ensure that everyone has a decent place to live.

There are many ways to become involved in Habitat's work. Volunteers can help in one or more of the following areas:

Home Repairs
Translation Services
Committees
Facility Maintenance
Family Services

History: Habitat for Humanity of Iowa has been serving the Marshalltown community since the devastating tornado in 2018. To date, the organization has mobilized over 780 volunteers totaling over 8,300 volunteer hours! These hours have helped to stabilize 104 houses immediately after the tornado, and help 77 partner families with home repairs and landscaping.
