Mission Statement
Street Entrepreneurs envisions a grit-based economy where people with talent, drive, and hustle have access to the resources needed to sustainably solve the problems impacting their lives, their communities, and our world.
Description
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we do not profit from the businesses we support. Instead, harness the power of small business founders to create positive change and cultivate equitable communities. We do this by creating access to knowledge, connections, and capital.
What We Do:
Our 2020 accelerator will provide 200 hours of business education, 48 interactive workshops, and 18 Talent Exchange sessions to nearly 1,000 entrepreneurs in every ward of Washington, D.C. The grittiest founders will be selected by their peers to showcase at Street Pitch.
We invest in the human capital of our entrepreneurs by providing a world-class education that is accessible to all.
Our participants most commonly describe our education workshops as hands-on, creative, collaborative, and interactive. Our teachers are subject-matter experts with start-up and small businesses experience. They utilize improvisational comedy, design thinking, and other experiential-learning methodologies to teach topics crucial to starting, operating, and growing a business.
*In exchange for volunteering, you have an opportunity to participate in the Accelerator Weekend. You must still go through the application process*
