Mission Statement

Become a volunteer host family with EF and welcome an international student into your home. You will experience true cultural exchange, and represent your community, SWFL, internationally. Our host families become the students’ home away from home, and EF host families provide a safe and comfortable environment for our students to ensure they get the best experience abroad as possible. In July, 2020, Education First Gulf Coast International Program (EF GCITL) will be welcoming international students (ages 14-17) from Spain, France, Russia, Finland, Denmark and Italy. We are seeking volunteer host families in Lee and Collier Counties for students arriving in Southwest Florida this July. The students will participate in an English language program and scheduled activities throughout the week days and enjoy their host families during the evening and weekends. Description

Education First offers language programs in 54 countries on nearly every continent and is now the world’s leading educational travel provider; offering students the opportunity to experience a new culture abroad, improving their language skills and participating in a full activity program. Full cultural and linguistic immersion is at the core of what EF does. By living with volunteer host families, interacting with local people and studying/participating in the EF English language course, students don’t just learn a language, they live it.

The international students that chose to participate in an EF summer adventure in the U.S.A., have many choices to pick from; however, the EF Southwest Florida program (EF GCITL), is one of their first choices and the program continues to grow in international recognition and popularity.
