Stone Soup CLE’s mission is to reclaim excess food and redistribute it to those in need, keeping nutritious meals on dinner tables and out of our communities’ landfills. We strive to create meaningful and sustainable solutions to hunger and food waste through education and partnerships. It is our goal to create networks of small food access organizations to increase the number of people served, enhance the client experience and lower our carbon footprint while not duplicating efforts.
Stone Soup CLE began its food rescuing mission in October of 2015. By the end of 2015, an all-volunteer group of 5 food professionals reclaimed more than 7,800 lbs. of nutritious food and delivered it to those in need as a free service.
