Mission Statement

The Black Rebirth Collective (The BRC) is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization, headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The BRC’s mission is to connect, nurture and support actors as they enter the creative process, whether through training, readings, or productions while remaining rooted in the cultural expression that is found throughout the African diaspora and in the principle of Ujima - Collective work and responsibility.

Description

The BRC Goals

-- To provide a safe space for artists of color
-- To create untold and unapologetic narratives from diverse un-mined cultural diasporas
-- To explore classical texts written by artists of color and re-imagine their purpose and
impact in today's world, and
-- To engage disenfranchised youth by encouraging them to unplug from technology to discover the joy of play, and empower their voices through theatre
