Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Princess Janae Place was established in 2015 due to the increase in homelessness within TGNC community and to honor an icon in the entertainment industry Princess Janae Banks and her good works. The housing disparities and referral process in the shelter system is at an all time high. With over 80,000 homeless people in New York, something needs to be done. Housing is a major concern for us and bringing awareness to the discrimination by landlords and realty agencies for not accepting vouchers or programs that were put in place for people to get out of the shelter system. Our goal is to get our TGNC community safe, affordable and inclusive housing.
It is with Princess Janae Banks' ideals that we are working to overcome the disparities in safe, affordable, and inclusive housing for TGNC community. We do this through outreach and advocacy, fashion and arts, and by being as visible as possible. We work with NYC to move our community members out of the shelter system and off the streets and into a home of their own. Our CEO is nationally recognized and even though our organization is small, we have a loud and proud voice.
