National Volunteer Week 2021 Is Here!
Celebrate with us as we highlight #ArtAsActivism!
Improve the quality of life for Marine and Navy personnel and their families by: . Providing free furniture and housewares to military families . Improving morale by upgrading recreational facilities . Sponsoring/supporting on-base family events such as Halloween, Christmas, and Homecoming. . Building memorials that demonstrate community support and provide a tranquil place for remembrances. . Providing humanitarian grants and emergency assistance.
Our moving van picks up lightly-used furniture and housewares 4 times a day, 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year from locations within a 60-mile radius of Camp Pendleton.
Donors go to www.cpcsf.org (Camp Pendleton Community Service Fund) to list the items they wish to donate. They select a convenient date and time, and make a small donation ($25 - $100) towards the cost of fuel and food for the volunteer U.S. Marine truck drivers. The system sends an email confirmation to the donor and a smartphone notification to the drivers regarding the pickup. After pickups, donors receive a tax receipt.
The United States Marine Corps (USMC) provides PCSF a Warehouse where donations of furniture and housewares are stored. On Friday mornings, the warehouse opens for 4 hours to distribute the donated items to military families. PCSF calls this their Warrior Warehouse. Over 500 families visit and select items from the warehouse each month.
