Mission Statement

ACT-SO is an enrichment program designed by the NAACP to encourage academic and cultural achievement among minority highschool students. We provide students a platform to complete in u to 32 compositions in 6 different categories including: Humanities, S.T.E.M, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Culinary Arts and Entrepreneurship.

Description

The ACTSO program is 42 years old and have had over 300,000 participants. Our goal is to:

  • Highlight, stimulate, and educate the minds of minority highschool students,
  • Challenge them to excell by providing continuous spotlight to their efforts and successes
  • Raise the standard of excellence and expectation among oir youth
  • Promote a climate of academic and artistic development
  • Mobilize the adult/professional community to serve as mentors and coaches for students in the ACT-SO categories.
