We are interested in volunteers to teach health education to our low income residents. Compass FAH provides education based services to adults who are living in affordable housing, With multiple locations throughout Southern CA., these community events would last no more than an hour and occur on a week night, approximately 7-8 PM (CFAH will coordinate with you to set the meeting time) The gist: You (volunteer) would be teaching a group of (approximately) 10 adults basic health information (this broad topic could touch on "how to eat healthy on a budget" "easy in home exercise's" etc.) These events will happen in the community room at the property. CFAH will assist you in providing handouts, scheduling the lesson, etc. You will be in charge of coming up with the program syllabus. (what you will teach or talk about) CFAH properties are located in: San Ysidro, San Diego, Carmel Valley, Vista, Murrieta, Temecula, Carson, and Indio. No obligation to teach at all communities, and no obligation to teach more than once. But if interested this an ongoing opportunity.

Compass for Affordable Housing provides education based services to those of low income, who reside in affordable housing. Because of recent changes (IE physical separation mandated by COVID restrictions), we have started a BLOG to extend education services to our residents. Our blog topics tend to touch on financial, health, diet, and education. We are soliciting for guest bloggers who would like to write an article on one of these mentioned topics.

We are interested in volunteers to teach financial education to our low-income residents. Compass FAH provides education-based services to families who are living in affordable housing. With multiple locations throughout Southern CA., these community events would last no more than an hour and occur on a week night, at a time and date that works for you! (CFAH will coordinate with you to set the meeting time, date etc.) The gist: You (volunteer) would be teaching a group of (approximately) 5 adults’ basic financial information (this broad topic could touch on "how to balance your checkbook", "best ways to invest" "ways to save money" etc.) These events will happen in the community room at the property. CFAH will assist you in providing handouts, scheduling the lesson, etc. You will be in charge of creating a program (lesson plan for the event, what do you know well? what would like to share with others?) CFAH properties are located in: San Ysidro, San Diego, Carmel Valley, Vista, Temecula, Murrieta, Carson, and Indio. No obligation to teach at all communities, and no obligation to teach more than once. But if interested this could be an ongoing opportunity.

Description

Compass for Affordable Housing is the evolution of the nonprofit Love Your Lunchbox and the original EAT program. Founded in 2009 and broadened to Compass for Affordable Housing in 2018, Compass is an inclusive organization providing support to those of low income residing in affordable housing. Utilizing technology, Compass shares educational information with a wide-spread, diverse group of individuals who may lack access to pertinent information that can aid in their ability to achieve success. Compass is the connection between these individuals and pertinent social information. Compass provides a direction; to share, to raise awareness and empower.
