About Us: The Salvation Army Echelon is a group of young professionals dedicated to supporting The Salvation Army's mission through hands-on service, fundraising events, and building meaningful connections. Whether you are interested in becoming a general member or leading our chapter as a Board Member, we encourage all individuals to apply and reach out. Have you always wondered what it was like to be one of Santa's elves? Thanks to this great volunteer opportunity now you can experience it firsthand! As Santa’s elf, you'll use your organizational skills and toy knowledge to fulfill toy requests and distribute orders. You’ll be coming to our Bell Warehouse where you will help sort, label, organize, count, and package toys into bags to be distributed to deserving children in communities throughout Los Angeles County for this year’s Christmas Assistance Program 2024. **Please note spaces are limited and sorting dates are subject to change based on toy inventory.

Join our compassionate volunteer team as a Social Services Operations Volunteer! Make a meaningful impact by playing a vital role in supporting our food pantry operations. VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assisting with sorting and shelving food items Preparing food boxes Maintaining cleanliness and organization Performing light lifting tasks (15-25 lbs) REQUIREMENTS A heart for others Able to lift up to 25lbs. SHIFTS Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays - 9:30am to 1:00pm At least 2 hours per day Community service hours will be accepted pending pre-evaluation from program

MISSION The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. PURPOSE To support The Salvation Army in raising funds to support community efforts. The Red Kettle Campaign is one of the primary fundraising efforts of The Salvation Army. We are looking for Christmas Ambassadors (Bell Ringers) to help The Salvation Army spread Christmas cheer and raise money for needy children, homeless, the hungry and more all year long. We have locations all over Southern California and as volunteer you are able to choose your time and kettle location. Our kettle season starts November 18th and last until Christmas Eve. VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Engage community at kettle location by bell ringing and collecting donations Oversee safety of kettle by never leaving unattended Smile, make eye contact, and be courteous by saying thank you for every donation REQUIREMENTS A heart for others Punctual and committed Friendly demeanor Ability to stand or sit for several hours SHIFTS Shift dates/times may vary, but typically occur Monday to Saturday Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for multiple shifts. Consider adopting a kettle for a whole day!
