Mission Statement

Insight Garden Program facilitates a restorative approach to incarceration through connection to nature. We work using a collaborative, participatory-centered approach with all key stakeholders -- from the people who live and work in prisons to our larger communities. Together, we are part of the solution.

Description

Insight Garden Program works in 17 prisons across the country and facilitates an innovative curriculum combined with vocational gardening and landscaping training so that people in prison can reconnect to self, community, and the natural world. This "inner" and "outer" gardening approach transforms lives, ends ongoing cycles of incarceration, and creates safer communities.
