The Arthritis Foundation in Colorado is seeking an enthusiastic and committed volunteer leader to work closely with the staff and help lead a volunteer committee. Together, we strive to make the 2024 Arthritis Foundation's Walk to Cure Arthritis a huge success. As Event Chair, you will guide a team of dedicated volunteer committee members, focusing on event planning & logistics, and achieving fundraising goals. Let's work together to make a difference and help find a cure for arthritis. We are looking for a strong leader who can: Partner with volunteers and staff to ensure that the event meets community engagement and financial goals. Recruit and lead of team of volunteers (10+) to build and implement the overall event strategy using tools and resources based on best practices Meet regularly with committee to track progress About the event: The Walk to Cure Arthritis is the flagship event for the Arthritis Foundation and is hosted every May during Arthritis Awareness Month. Arthritis Foundation Mission: Boldly pursue a cure for America’s #1 cause of disability, while championing the fight against arthritis with life-changing resources, science, advocacy and community connections.

We are looking for volunteers interested in leading our nationwide Virtual Osteoarthritis, Military/Vets, Gout, Hispanic, and parents of children and teens with Juvenile Arthritis connect groups. Arthritis Foundation Connect Groups are peer-led support, social, and educational groups that regularly meet in person or virtually to provide connections that are inclusive to adults living with all types of arthritis and rheumatic diseases or to parents/guardians of children with juvenile arthritis. Facilitators bring people together to provide: social and informative events and activities focused on peer support and positive coping strategies understanding and encouragement for both people living with arthritis and their loved ones strategies supporting members become self-advocates, develop self-management skills and learn how to not just survive life with arthritis but to thrive! Facilitators abide by the Live Yes! The Arthritis Foundation - Sacramento is looking for energetic and passionate individuals to join our 2023 Jingle Bell Run Event Committee. Jingle Bell Run is the original festive race; our participants dress up in fun, holiday attire, tie bells to their shoes and run to support those living with arthritis by raising vital funds for programs and research. Volunteer committee members partner with the Jingle Bell Run Chairs and Arthritis Foundation staff to ensure that the event meets its financial and community engagement goals. Committee member's responsibilities may include: Attending regular committee meetings Participant recruitment and outreach Soliciting sponsorships and donations: financial and in-kind Assisting with social media and communications Sharing the mission of the Arthritis Foundation The ideal people would be willing to commit several hours each month between now and the event which will be held in Dec 9th, 2023.
